DIN-KO’s Versatile Flow Forming Series is developed for small to medium-sized workpieces, achieving a machining accuracy of up to 3μm.
Equipped with Bosch Rexroth servo-hydraulic control system and next-generation hydraulic units, it meets the demands for smart manufacturing and energy efficiency. The modular design allows for easy switching of machining modules to accommodate different workpiece types and processing requirements.
Main application fields includes automotive, aerospace, defense & military, tubing & piping, and high-pressure cylinders.
Special process applications: Shear forming, teeth forming and small wheel rims.
Shear forming:
Shear spinning, also known as tapered flow forming, is an incremental metal forming process similar to conventional spinning. Unlike traditional flow forming, the final product retains a diameter close to that of the original blank, but its wall thickness decreases based on the forming angle. A larger angle results in greater material elongation, leading to further thickness reduction. This process is ideal for thin-walled and uniform-diameter conical or cylindrical components.
Teeth Forming:
During incremental forming, teeth forming utilizes precision rollers to gradually apply pressure, shaping the metal along the desired contour. This process not only achieves high-precision tooth structures but also enhances material strength and reduces waste through controlled strain and deformation. Unlike traditional machining methods, flow forming preserves the metal’s fiber structure, improving durability and fatigue resistance. Teeth forming is particularly suitable for manufacturing high-strength, high-precision hubs and mechanical transmission components.
